Hit-Run Driver At Large After Motorist Suffers Head Injuries In Area

A driver who was weaving in and out of traffic on Sunday before striking a minivan and hospitalizing another motorist on the Sprain Brook Parkway is at large, New York State Police investigators said.

Members of the New York State Police barracks in Hawthorne were called in to investigate a hit-and-run in the southbound lanes at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28, on the parkway in Yonkers.

According to police, witnesses described two vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of the traffic before one car, only described as black, struck a Toyota Sienna.

After striking the minivan, it hit a third vehicle. The driver of the Sienna suffered a head injury during the initial collision. The suspect driving the black vehicle proceeded to flee the area without stopping.
